Black Meteors of Ghana must win every game in the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Egypt to a chance of being successful, according to coach Ibrahim Tanko.

The team left Accra for the tournament on Monday brimming with confidence, having engaged in a series of friendly games as part of preparations.

Ghana have drawn alongside in Group A alongside Egypt Cameroon and Mali.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, the 42-year-old disclosed that the team’s goal is to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics football tournament and also win the title.

"We have only one mindset and that is making it to the Olympics. The players and the technical team know what lies ahead of us,' he said.

"We are ready and we will go there to prepare. We have a few days to polish what we are doing before playing the first match. We have to win every match if we are going to be successful and that is our mindset as we go to Egypt," he added.

Ghana will face Cameroon in their Group A opener before playing Egypt and Mali on November 11 ad 15 respectively.
