Black Princesses head coach Yussif Basigi has provided a positive update on talented attacker Mafia Nyame, who sustained an injury during Ghana's opening match against Ethiopia at the ongoing 13th African Games.

Despite the setback, coach Yussif Basigi remains optimistic about Nyame's recovery and the team's performance ahead of their next game against Tanzania.

The Ghanaian side struggled to convert their chances in the game, resulting in a hard-fought 1-0 win over Ethiopia on Saturday.

''Maafia Nyame is doing well now even though she had an injury in the opening match but she trained this morning and the medical team has assured us that she is fit and good to go,'' he said ahead of the clash.

The Black Princesses are looking to make a strong statement in the women's football tournament in front of home fans.

The Black Princesses will play Tanzania at 20:00Hrs on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
