Black Queens defender Faustina Ampah confirms successful knee operation in Belarus and sends a message to fans following a major injury setback.

Ampah underwent a knee operation after being laid off for some time since picking up a knock at her club side before joining Ghana for the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.

While playing for Ghana, the tough-tackling defender looked to have worsened the situation by picking another know which ruled her out of Ghana’s final group game with Cameroon.

The successful operation done on Wednesday will see Ampah out of action for six months before returning to the pitch.

Ampah is, however, thankful to God for the successful surgery and hopes to return to action soon.

“I have successfully undergone my surgery on my left knee, on Wednesday, thanks to everyone who has assisted me with prayers and goodwill messages,” she wrote on her Facebook wall after the operation.
