Black Queens midfielder Grace Asantewaa was left disappointed following the teams failure to secure qualification to the 2024 Olympic Games.

The Senior women’s national team suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg before playing out a 3-3 draw in Ndola on Wednesday evening.

However, the Copper Queens has advanced to the final round of the qualifiers on 4-3 aggregate.

“Thank you, Ghana, for your incredible support throughout the Olympic campaign. We are disappointed with the outcome but deeply appreciate your unwavering backing. Please continue to support us in future assignments” she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Black Queens will now focus on the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, which takes place in Morocco later this year.
