Black Queens of Ghana have been omitted from the final shortlist for the 2018 CAF Women's National Team of the Year award.
The female national team failed to the cut after Confederation Africa Football (CAF) on Friday, released a final shortlist which saw Ghana and Mali missing out with Cameroon, Nigeria and South Africa left to fight for the top accolade.
Ghana failed to qualify from their group consisting of Algeria, Mali and third-placed Cameroon at the just ended 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations despite being the hosts.
The group stage exit also meant the Black Queens have missed a chance to represent the country at the FIFA Women's World Cup to be staged in France next year.
Due to the poor performance of Coach Bashiru Hayford and his lads in the Women's championship, they were dropped from the nominees.
The award ceremony is set for Tuesday, 8th January 2019 in Senegal's capital of Dakar.
