Black Queens to play in Zone B of Women's WAFU Cup of Nations in 2018

The female national team of Ghana the Black Queens will play in the inaugural WAFU Zone B Women's Nations Cup next month in Ivory Coast.

The eight-team tournament will also include Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Niger.

Ivory Coast, host of the maiden tournament have been seeded in Group A and Nigeria, the continent's leading nation in the FIFA ranking at the top of Pool B.

The draw for the tournament will take place on 9 January in Abidjan.

The Black Queens will use the tournament as preparations for the FIFA Womens World Cup in 2019, France as well as the African Womens Championship to be hosted in Ghana 2018.

The team recently played in an International friendly with the French national team where the were hammered 8-0. However, Coach Mas Ud Didi Dramani indicated it was a good test for the team.
