Head Coach of the national under-17 team, the Black Starlets, Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has revealed there are foreign born Ghanaian who want to justify their inclusion ahead of the world cup in India.

The team is in camp preparing at the Ghana Soccer Center of Excellence ahead of the World Cup which begins in October with both local and foreign based players.

The Black Starlets are returning to the World Stage after a decade of absence and will leave no stone unturned as they bid for a third title.

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin says he opened doors for players elsewhere because he wants to build a strong team for the World Cup in India.

“The number is a little bit large, so we needed to divide them into two so we can observe them at close range because when they are few and you are observing them you can identify the little details and their mistakes and you can correct it,” he told Kwese Sports.

“Some of them wrote to the FA, they are from Germany and England, they want to come see if they can join the team so we had to give them the opportunity to come and train with us so we can see, that’s why you see them.”

Ghana has been drawn in Group A with host India, Colombia from South America and the United States of America.

The Black Starlets are the first team to win Ghana a world Cup, when they lifted the trophy for the first time in 1991.
