After spending four days in camp with 26 home-based players, Black Stars head coach CK Akonnor says he was impressed with the displays of the players.

The Ghana head coach from Monday to Thursday spent time with the invited home-based players where he took them through various training drills.

Speaking in an interview after breaking camp to allow players to return to their clubs, Coach CK Akonnor says he is excited with the inputs of all the players that reported to camp.

“I am happy with what I have seen so far, and I am looking forward to welcoming them back on Thursday after their club football matches,” the Ghana coach told Daily Graphic.

Coach CK Akonnor continued, “We will have to see if there is a need to make additions and omissions before the matches and when there is a need to do that, I will definitely affect it.

“I think we have to be fair in giving opportunities to deserving players. I don’t think concentrating on only Premier League players would be enough and I must admit that I have been impressed with them.”

Thirty two home-based players will reassemble to camp next week Thursday to continue preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against South Africa and Sao Tome & Principe.
