Black Stars coach CK Akonnor requests for physical trainer

Ghana coach, CK Akonnor has informed the Ghana Football Association [GFA] he will need a physical trainer.

The 46-year-old trainer was in teh dugout for the first time as teh Black Stars coach when the country played Mali and Qatar in an international friendly in Turkey last week.

With the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] qualifiers resume next, the Communications Director of the GFA, Henry Asante Twum has told Nhyira FM in an interview that Akonnor has requested for a physical trainer.

According to him, he does not want David Duncan, who is the assistant coach to be pressured.

"Coach CK Akonnor has requested for a physical trainer with the expertise to do that job," he said.

"Assistant coach David Duncan cannot be pressured with that job too," he added.

Ghana will play Sudan in a doubleheader next month.

Akonnor was appointed on a two-year deal, replacing Kwesi Appiah.
