The Black Stars of Ghana completed their first training session for Wednesday earlier this morning with all players fully fit and in good shape ahead of the start of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

According to sources within the team’s camping base, there are no injury concerns amongst any of the 23 players in Dubai despite engaging in some high intensity training sessions in the past week.

This comes as a good news for head coach James Kwesi Appiah and his technical team especially when it is just 9 days to the start of the continental showdown. They will surely want the situation to remain the same in order to have a squad that can compete at the highest level when they open their group.

The Black Stars will continue their training tour in Dubai for the next couple of weeks before making their way to Egypt for the AFCON tournament. Before that however, they have scheduled a friendly match against South Africa which comes off this Saturday, June 15.

Ghana’s has been drawn in Group F ahead of the 2019 AFCON and will be coming up against the likes of Benin, Guinea Bissau and current champions Cameroon. They will play their first match against Benin on Tuesday, June 25.
