Black Stars is missing the services of Asamoah Gyan - Emmanuel Agyemang Badu

Former Ghana midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu believes the country is missing the services of legendary striker, Asamoah Gyan.

Gyan, 34, has been out of the national team after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] in Egypt.

Ghana has struggled to score goals in all the competitions. The Black Stars after two friendly matches played failed to score a goal losing to Morocco in Rabat before drawing with Ivory Coast Stadium.

The situation has become a real concern to Ghanaians ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] next year.

Agyemang-Badu admits that despite loads of talents at coach Charles Akonnor’s disposal, a player with the abilities of Asamoah Gyan will make the team complete.

“What we [Ghana] need now is a typical striker as I feel Jordan Ayew is more comfortable playing behind a striker.” the former Hellas Verona midfielder told GhOne TV.

“Everyone knows we miss a striker like Asamoah Gyan. We may not get someone who has a potential like his, Gyan will be very difficult to replace,” he added.

Badu and Gyan played several games together including the 2010 and 2014 World Cup respectively.
