Deputy Sports Minister Hon Vincent Oppong Asamoah has revealed that his outfit will pay the Black stars players $3000 instead of the actual $8000 if they win against Rwanda in their final AFCON 2017 qualifier.

The players, who previously took home $10,000 as match winning bonus, now take $8000 and will be expecting that should they win against Rwanda on Saturday.

Meanwhile, deputy sports minister Hon Vincent Oppong Asamoah has divulged to Sunyani based radio station Storm Fm that the sports ministry cannot afford to pay the players $8000 due to lack of cash.

The ministry ordered the players to cater for their own air tickets to come honour the game against Rwanda with claims they had no money.

Interestingly, head coach Avram Grant managed to raise 13 players for day one training on Tuesday at the Accra Sports stadium despite unavailability of funds at the Sports ministry to afford their air tickets.

"We will not pay $8000 Dollars to the Black Stars aginst Rwanda, I Suggest $3000 Dollars to them as winning Bonus." He said.

Ghana has already qualified for the tournament slated for Gabon in 2017.
