Blues Legends Single Out 3 Chelsea Players for Top Performances So Far This Season

Victor Moses has been praised by former Chelsea star Pat Nevin for remaining patient over a lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge.

The makeshift wing-back has become an integral component of Antonio Conte's side during Chelsea's four-match winning streak after spending the past three seasons out on loan at other Premier League clubs.

Moses was impressive yet again in the 2-0 victory over Southampton on Sunday and, speaking to the club's official website, Nevin stated his belief that Moses had shown great persistence and tolerance before finally being handed an extended opportunity in the first-team to showcase his credentials.

Victor Moses is that bottle of schnapps you bought in Tenerife in '08 which, after years in the cupboard, you just found out cleans brass.

Nevin said: "Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses were colossal (against Southampton) and for me Moses had his best game by far in a Chelsea shirt.

"Considering how hard it has been for him to break into the Chelsea team, or indeed even stay at the club, you understand his current desire.

"He has the air of a man who has been given a chance he never thought he would get, and by God he isn't going to let it go.

"The fact he has continued to be professional without uttering a word of complaint, in public anyway, is incredibly impressive.

"I wonder if he moans and carps constantly at home just to get it out of his system? Actually I doubt it, he simply appears to be professional and dedicated all the time."

Meanwhile, Gary Cahill has revealed that Eden Hazard and Diego Costa have the ability to win matches single handedly for the Londoners.

The pair have racked up 13 goals and four assists between them in all competitions, and have helped Chelsea to fourth in the league standings after 10 matches so far, with both notching in the victory at St.Mary's stadium.

Centre back Cahill lavished praise on the duo for their match winning capabilities, and said he believes Chelsea are blessed to have two class players who can contribute on a regular basis up front.

He said: "They are playing fantastic. It is important to have big players who can change a game.

"You could see against Southampton we were trying hard to keep a clean sheet. We worked hard on keeping the shape and were 1-0 up. It is very tight when you're just a goal up but then all of a sudden Diego turns and whips it into the top corner.

"That is sometimes the difference in players at this level, players we are blessed to have at this club.

"It is not just those two, though, we have many at this club, but it's important we have game-changers like Eden and Diego."
