Bookmakers reveal Sunderland interest in signing Jeffrey Schlupp

Leicester City winger Jeffrey Schlupp has been attracting plenty of Premier League attention, and now the bookies believe Sunderland are interested.

Bookmaker BetVictor have listed Sunderland as the second favourites to sign the Ghanaian Schlupp during the January transfer window.

A recent report from the Express and Star suggested that West Bromwich Albion were interested in signing the 23-year-old in the summer, and ultimately had four bids - the highest offer was worth £12m - rejected by the Foxes.

And while the Express and Star adding that the Ghana international now wants a move to the Hawthorns means that it is hardly surprising to see the Baggies listed as the 2/1 favourites with BetVictor, it appears that they have competition from some of their Premier League rivals.

The Black Cats have been listed at 6/1 with BetVictor to bring Schlupp to the Stadium of Light, while Hull City are behind them at 8/1.

With David Moyes' men lacking creativity going forward, and perhaps still in need of some additional depth at full-back, Schlupp would arguably be a good signing as they desperately try to beat the drop.

And with the Express and Star suggesting that his unhappiness at the King Power Stadium stems from a lack of game-time, Moyes may find that convincing Schlupp that he can be a key man for Sunderland may help lure him their way.
