Borussia Dortmund Midfielder Admits Frustration at Missing Half of Season Through Injury

Borussia Dortmund holding midfielder Sven Bender has revealed his frustration at missing the first-half of the season through injury.

The 27-year-old is now back with the first-team squad, working hard with his teammates at a training camp in Marbella.

But he had some choice words for his teammates, telling them to stop making careless mistakes and take the lead more often in matches.

He toldBVB.de:"We need to eliminate careless mistakes and take the lead in matches. Once we're ahead, it's very, very unlikely we'll drop points."

After admitting to giving it 100 per cent in training over the festive period, Bender said completing a full preparation is 'very important'.

He added:"I didn't do it in the summer. Annoyingly I came back from the Olympic Games with an injury and missed pretty much all of the first half of the season."

Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel is known for his strict training regime, and Bender believes that can only be a good thing going into the second-half of the season.

"The training," he said, "is at a high level. And as they say, competition is good for business."
