Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has hopes Adam Smith will make their season opener against West Brom.
Smith sat out Cherries' first two friendlies as a precaution having felt some discomfort in his thigh in the first week of training.
Howe said: “Adam felt his quad tighten in training in our first week so we took him out.
“He has had some treatment and we are hopeful he will be back with us next week. We expect him to be ready for our first game at West Brom."
Brad Smith, who injured his hamstring in Australia's World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia in June, is “close to returning" says Howe.
