Bournemouth defender Cook going nowhere despite interest from West Brom, Everton and Newcastle

Steve Cook insists he is happy at Bournemouth.

The 26-year-old has been an essential player for a Bournemouth side that could clinch a top-half finish if they beat Leicester on Sunday.

Cook, who the Cherries purchased from Brighton for just £170,000 in 2012, will have played every minute of Bournemouth's Premier League campaign this season, if he starts and finishes this weekend's match.

Cook's stellar season has caught the eye of some of Bournemouth's Premier League rivals including Everton, West Brom, Newcastle and Watford.

Responding to the speculation, Cook told the Bournemouth Echo: "I think those sort of rumours are nice but I'm happy here."

Asked if he expects a new deal at Vitality Stadium, Cook said: "I don't know. It's difficult to say. The lads who have played all season have shown how committed they are to the club.

"I have played here for a long time now. I love living here and I love playing under the manager.

"Until the club stops growing, which I'm sure it won't, then I'd love to play for Bournemouth and Eddie Howe for years to come."
