As most people would expect, the club in question are indeedback in his native of Brazil, but surprisingly it isn't Santos, the club where he made his name asafootballing superstar.

Speaking after the recent charity "Game of the Stars" match as reported by the , he revealed: "If I could I would like to play for Flamengo, it would be a great honour for me to play at the Maracanã. I would be playing there all day. It's a club I want to play for."

Neymar's citation of the Maracanã is understandable. Famous for it's imposing circular framework, the stadium nowholds just under 80,000 people after undergoing a three-year renovation period between 2010-13.

The stadium will be remembered by most for being the host venue of the 2014 World Cup final between Argentina and Germany, and the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Neymar's comments are unlikely to go down well with Santos fans, who worshipped the ground he walked on as he developed into one of world football's best youngtalents during his stint at the club between 2009-13.

Fortunately for the Santos faithful though, any move to Flamengo won't be for a long time. Their former hero just signed a new deal with Barca, which will keep him in the company of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez for the foreseeable.
