Ghana winger Christian Atsu made his first start for Newcastle United in this afternoon's Sky Bet Championship, scoring his first goal to give them a 1-0 halftime lead at Rotherham United.
The Ghanaian international came into the side as one of two changes made by manager Rafa Benitez following Wednesday night's superb 4-3 victory over Norwich City, with Vurnon Anita - who is back from suspension - replacing DeAndre Yedlin.
Chelsea loanee Atsu started in place of Matt Ritchie, and was a threat with his pace, trickery and crossing throughout the first half.
He scored a brilliant goal when he cut-in from the right and bent-in a left-footed shot into the far top corner. He gave Newcastle a 1-0 lead at the break.
