BREAKING: Great Olympics win three boardroom points after successful protest against Medeama SC

Accra Great Olympics came away victors in an appeal against Medeama for fielding an unqualified player against them on matchday 12 in the Ghana Premier League.

Nana Kofi Babil was the player in this case and he was legitimately suspended for that clash after receiving yellow cards on matchdays 1,6 and 11.

Medeama are currently on top of the log with 30 points but will lose a total of six points whilst Great Olympics will gain three points from the decision.

These are the full punishments given out by The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association to Medeama for breaking the rules.

  • Medeama SC shall be considered as having lost the match and accordingly, three(3) points and three(3) goals is hereby awarded in favour of Accra Great Olympics FC.
  • Medeama SC shall further lose three (3) points from its accumulated points from previous matches.
  • Medeama SC will be fined an amount of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc5,000.00), 50% of which shall be paid to Accra Great Olympics.
  • Medeama SC is fined an amount of One Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc1,000.00) as transportation expense of Accra Great Olympics FC.

They also added that should any party be dissatisfied with or aggrieved by this Decision, the party has within one (1) day of being notified of this Ruling to appeal to the Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
