Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Jordan Ayew has tested positive for the Coronavirus disease.

The striker was part of the Ghana squad that played friendly matches against Mali and Qatar in the international break.

Having returned to Crystal Palace 6 days ago, the forward has tested positive for the Coronavirus disease.

“Unfortunately he tested positive for Covid in our last test on Friday”, Palace manager Roy Hodgson said in an interview after the team drew 1-1 against Brighton & Hove Albion today.

The manager added, "He's been away with Ghana, which we weren't exactly delighted to accept that he had to do. Like several other Ghanaian players I believe when they have gone back to their clubs they have tested positive.

“Now we have to follow the relative government and Premier League guidelines before we see him again.

“I don't know [when we'll have him back]. Don't ask me to stand here and explain all of the Premier League government guidelines when it comes to Covid”.

Per the guidelines in the UK, Jordan Ayew is expected to stay in isolation for 10 days before he will be allowed to join his teammates for training if he tests negative.
