BREAKING NEWS: Legon Cities declared winners of matchday 23 game against Ebusua Dwarfs

Legon Cities have been declared the winners for the matchday 23 game against Ebusua Dwarfs, the Ghana Football Association [GFA] have confirmed.

The game which was hosted at the Cape Coast Stadium came to an abrupt end after the first half.

The match officials failed to show up for the second of the game with reports suggesting that the home fans of Ebusua Dwarfs threatened the match officials.

Centre referee Alpha Adey, his assistants and the match commissioner all failed to show up for the second half citing that they are not safe to continue the game.

According to a tweet from Legon Cities, the referee said he did not feel safe officiating the rest of the game after Ebusua Dwarfs fans threatened him with beatings.

After waiting for close to two hours for the start of the second half, both teams went to their respective dressing room and the game never saw a conclusion.

However, the Disciplinary Committee have awarded all the three points to Legon Cities.

This means Legon Cities now move to the 13th position with 29 points.

Meanwhile, Ebusua Dwarfs have been deducted three points.
