Ghana forward, Abdul Majeed Waris has joined Nantes FC on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

Waris joined the Portuguese side in January but failed to hit the grounds running and ahead of the new season the 26-year-old has returned to France after a short spell with the Portuguese giants.

The Ghana international has put pen-to-paper after completing formalities on Monday.

The Ghana international signed a four-year deal with the Dragons this summer but has been forced to move out after he was left out of the squad for the new season by manager Sergio Conceicao.

Nantes have stolen the march off Saint-Etienne to prize the former FC Lorient and Valenciennes striker away.

Waris struggled to churn out regular playing time when he joined Porto on loan in January making only five appearances.

He has been handed the number 10 jersey.
