BREAKING NEWS: Medeama SC part ways with Coach Prince Owusu

Medeama Sporting Club have Mutually terminated their contract with head coach Prince Yaw Owusu with two games more to the end of the current season.

Coach Owusu was appointed to save the clubs fortunes in the Caf confederations cup tournament after former Swedish coach Tom Strand left the club.

Coach Owusu managed to lead the team to the group stages of the competition but failed to qualify out of the group after a narrow loss to MO Bejaia of Algeria.

The Tarkwa based club under the tutelage of Coach Prince Owusu is also in contention for a top 4 finish in the Ghana Premier League after securing a 5th place on match week 28 and a point adrift 4th placed Asante Kotoko who have 43 points.

Medeama in a statement, revealed management of the club is in good terms with the coach. “The club would like to thank Owusu for his immense contribution since he returned to Tarkwa.” Both management and the coach believe it is in the best interest of both parties to go our separate ways. The club wishes to make clear coach Prince Owusu leaves us on good terms and will always remain respected and significant figure at Medeama. Technical Director Augustine Evans Adotey takes charge of the team and will be assisted by Ben Owu until the end of the season. The club will take a definite decision on the technical direction at the end of the current campaign.”
