Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu scored in Fleetwood Towns' 2-1 defeat to Oxford United in the Sky Bet League One on Saturday evening.

Fleetwood had controlled the first half but appeared to be level after goalkeeper Simon Eastwood had kept his team in the game.

He knocked back early chances for Cian Hayes and Promise Omochere. Admiral Muskwe's attempt was again stopped late in the half as Oxford tried to maintain its lead.

Muskwe found Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu on the outside of the box and hammered the ball into the bottom corner as the break approached.

Soon after the break, Hayes had an opportunity to extend the advantage when Josh Vela put him in, but he blasted straight at Eastwood.

Kyle Joseph made his way through the defense to score Oxford's equalizer shortly after replacing Yanic Wildschut just after the hour mark.

After 90 minutes, a goalmouth commotion resulted in Ciaron Brown poking in a stunning winner.
