Brighton boss Chris Hughton was left frustrated after their 1-0 defeat at Manchester United.

A scrappy winner from Ashley Young separated the two teams.

“The fact that we came here to a top-six team - a team that have the quality that Manchester United have - and we had the confidence to play, is very pleasing.

“We got into some really good positions, but what United did show is that they're physically strong and they can defend very well.

“You have to play on the break a little bit, but I thought we were very brave on the ball and there were a lot of good performances today."

Hughton showed his disappointment towards the corner decision in the lead up to United's winning goal, as Solly March was deemed to have touched the ball last after being closed down by Romelu Lukaku.

“My view at the time was that it wasn't a corner - but when the linesman gave it, I presumed he must have seen something. But having seen it again, it certainly wasn't a corner."
