Burnley snatched a victory against Everton at Turf Moor after Scott Arfield scored in the 90th minute to make it 2-1. Despite a dominant Toffees performance, Burnley remained organised defensively and gained more vital points at home.

RonaldKoeman's teamarrived at Turf Moor just two points off aChampions League place, andbegan the game the stronger. ARoss Barkley shot forceda save fromTom Heaton inside three minutes, and the England goalkeeperhad to beat away another powerful Barkley effort shortly after.

Burnley's game plan was clear in the opening stages: get the ball forward to SamVokes as quickly as possible. They struggled to collect many second balls early on though as the Toffees monopolised possession.

Ronald Koeman's side threatened to open up the Clarets' defence, but just failed to find the final pass on a couple of occasions. One suchdecent move ended at the feet of Idrissa Gueye, who laboured for too long before attempting the pass and the move broke down.

Everton were thencaught up the pitch, and some shockinggoalkeeping from Martin Stekelenburg allowed Vokes to open the scoring. Arfield's weakshotlooked as though it had come to nothing, but the Everton goalkeeper palmed itstraightinto Vokes's path for him to easily finish.

There was no real response to the goal from Everton before the break, but they started the second half well. Heaton made yet another save from Barkley, butKoeman's side stillfailed to find the rightfinal ballafter some crisp passing moves.

Everton's breakthrough came just before the hour mark. Ben Mee gambled and tried tonick the ball in front of Lukaku, but missed it andlet the Belgian in behind him. Yannick Bolasie, running alongside Lukaku, then took control of the ball and fired his shot into the far corner of the net.

The pressure was building on the Burnley defenceas Everton sought the goal that would put them in front. A lovely one-two on the Toffees' right between Seamus Coleman and Bolasie ended with a teasing low cross, but Michael Keane got the all important touch ahead of Lukaku to put it out for a corner.

Heaton then got another vital touch on a Bolasie cross to take it off Lukaku's head. Everton were pushing hard for a winner. Burnley struggled to get out of their half as Koeman's side applied late pressure.

But, amazingly, it was the Clarets who found the winning goal. Johann Gudmundsson hit the post with a great effort, andArfield dispatched the follow-up to give Sean Dyche's side a valuable three points.
