Asante Kotoko coach Charles Kwablah Akunnor has heaped praise on in-form Ghanaian goalkeeper Felix Annan for his performance against Zesco United.

The Porcupine Warriors' first choice goalkeeper was named in his side starting XI when they faced Zesco United of Zambia in the CAF Confederation Cup match at the Baba Yara sports stadium on Wednesday.

Annan, 23, was very stupendous in his outfit's 2-1 win over the Zambian side having made world-class saves to deny the visitors level before the final whistle. His agility to save a first half spot kick and crucial saves in the game has warranted praises from the head of the technical team for the Reds, C.K Akunnor.

"Felix Annan was very brilliant in the post against Zesco United and that's why he's the number one in the country as far as goalkeeping is concerned".

"So we are happy as a team to have him around", he said.

Asante Kotoko are in Group C of the CAF Confederation Cup with Nkana FC, Zesco United and Al Hilal. The Reds lost their first group game against Al Hilal in Sudan.

Currently, Kotoko are 3rd on the group table with three points. They will face Nkana FC in their next outing in the Confederation Cup.
