CAF CC Preview: Host Al Hilal, Kotoko target first win

The 2019 Caf Confederation Cup group C match opener will see host Al-Hilal play Asante Kotoko at the Al-Hilal stadium in Sudan.

The encounter is slated for Sunday, 2 February 18:00 GMT Sudan time and 16:00 GMT Ghana time.

Al-Hilal, ahead of this clash beat Mukura Victory Sports in the play off following their inability to progress in the Caf Champions League competition, having them paired in Group C with two Zambian giants thus Nkana FC and Zesco United with Kotoko from Ghana.

Ahead of game, Al Hilal have their starmen Jumma Ginaro and Darag Mohammed back to the team after they missed their previous games through injuries.

The Sudanes giant are currently placed top of their local league.

With Ghanaian side Kumasi Asante Kotoko, they fell into the Caf Confederation Cup courtesy of winning the country's prestigious MTN FA Cup last season.

They began their African campaign with ease following a walkover in the first round of the qualifiers after Cameroonian FA delayed in reaching the deadline of submitting their club representative to Caf.

The Reds moved beat Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks in a two legged affair and sealed qualification against Coton Sports of Cameroon who also got drop from the Champions League.

Their 2-1 home win cemented a place in group stage of the competition with a 5-3 aggregates score.

They will battle for supremacy against Nkana FC, Al Hilal and Zesco United in Group C.

The former African Champions will on Sunday be without three players thus Naby Keita, Abass Mohammed and Frederick Boateng due to a deal in Egypt despite been an integral members of the team in their Africa campaign.

Who takes away the 3 points at stake? Or it will be a draw? Goaless draw or 1-1 appease draw.
