Asante Kotoko skipper Felix Annan is highly optimistic about his side's chances of eliminating Nigerian side Kano Pillars in the Caf Champions Leagues playoffs.

The Porcupine Warriors lost 3-2 to Kano Pillars in their first leg encounter at the Saani Abacha Sports Stadium in Nigeria.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the second leg, the goalkeeper has assured the fans of qualification to the next round of the competition.

"It was a good game [against Kano Pillars]. We wanted to at least pick a point in the first leg tie," Annan told reporters.

"We did our best for a positive result and we can't afford to lose before our fans in Kumasi"

"We will beat them [Kano Pillars] in Kumasi to make it to the next round."

Asante Kotoko will host Kano Pillars in the return leg tie on August 25 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The winner of the two-legged tie will face Hafia FC of Guinea or Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel in the next stage.
