CAF CL: We will give our all to qualify ahead of Kano Pillars – Emmanuel Gyamfi

Kumasi Asante Kotoko attacker, Emmanuel Gyamfi has shared that the players will play above themselves when they face Kano Pillars at the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League to ensure they progress into the next round.

The Ghana Premier League side qualified for the upcoming edition of the CAF Champions League after beating Karela United in the finals of the tier 1 of the GFA Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

They have been drawn against Nigerian giant Kano pillars in the first round of the inter-club competition.

Ahead of the tie, winger Emmanuel Gyamfi has indicated that they are pleased to have been paired against a West African country whiles citing that they will give their best to ensure they progress into the next round ahead of their opponent.

“We were open to meeting any team but we didn’t want to face a North African team. So, the draw, I would say, gave us the kind of opponent we wanted”.

“We are both West African clubs. Our style of play is quite identical so the opposition would not be too difficult”.

“It surely won’t be easy for us but we are bent on qualifying and so will give it everything”, Gyamfi said.

The first leg of the match between Kotoko and Kano pillars will be played on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
