CAF Confed cup: CK Akonnor throws weight behind Ashgold ahead of opening match against Akonangui FC

Former Obuasi Ashanti Gold head coach, Charles Kwablah Akonnor has thrown his weight behind the club ahead of their opening match in the CAF Confederations Cup against Equatorial Guinea side Akonangui FC.

The Miners are the sole representatives of Ghana in CAF’s second-tier competition and has been paired against an opponent from Equatorial Guinea.

Ahead of the first leg of the match against Akonangui FC, CK Akonnor has backed the Obuasi based side for success while wishing them well.

In a post on the gaffer’s official Twitter page, he has shared, “You have always had the potential to do better, and this our time to show we are capable...All the best Ashgold”.

The club has landed in Equatorial Guinea and will train today before playing the first leg of the preliminary round on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
