CAF Confederation Cup: Abdul Ganiyu confident Kotoko will reach group stage

Asante Kotoko defender Ganiyu Abdul is confident his outfit will beat Cameroonian giants Coton Sport in the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup final play-off.

The Porcupine Warriors surprisingly defeated Coton Sport 3-2 in the first leg in Yaounde on Sunday and will welcome them in Kumasi on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in return leg fixture.

Speaking to the press ahead of the crucial clash, the former Karela United star said coach C.K Akunnor and his lads are in good spirit to complete the double over the Cameroonian champions.

“So far so good, we are feeling much better playing against Coton sport and we are going in to get the points for Asante Kotoko SC”.

“It’s not going to be easy for we the defenders because they will want to put more men upfront but all the same it’s our job to defend and we’re working hard towards it”, he added.

A win for Kotoko on Sunday will see them book qualification to the Group Stage of the competition for the first time since 2008.
