CAF Confederation Cup: Kotoko coach Akunnor names 18-man squad ahead of Zesco United clash

Published on: 13 March 2019

Asante Kotoko coach Charles Akonnor has named his 18-man squad for their crucial Caf Confederation Cup match against Zesco United on Sunday.

A win for the Porcupine Warriors will see them qualify for the quarter-final of the competition for the first time since 2008.

Jordan Opoku has been included in the squad, however experienced midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei misses out of the game in Zambia.

It is not yet known what might have influenced the decision by the 44-year-old gaffer to snub the former TP Mazembe midfielder, who was handed his debut against Al Hilal in last Sunday’s 1-1 stalemate at the BabaYara Stadium.

Burkina Faso international Songne Yacouba will not be in action for the Porcupine Warriors due to suspension.

Richard Senanu and Abdul Ganiyu failed to make the squad following their respective injuries they suffered in the past weeks.

Dany Teguy Zabo and Frederick Boateng have been included the squad alongside Prince Acquah who has been absent in their last two games.
