CAF Confederation Cup: Kotoko's Augustine Sefah ruled out of Coton Sport clash in Kumasi

Published on: 18 January 2019

Asante Kotoko defender Augustine Sefah has been ruled out of the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup final play-off against Coton Sport at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

Sefah, who was impressive for the Porcupine Warriors in Yaoundé as they recorded a historic 3-2 win over the Cameroonian giants will not feature in Sunday's clash according to management member Edmund Ackah.

The full-back is a key cog for coach C.K Akonnor's side, however, he will not be eligible to play in the crucial match due to the accumulation of cards.

"We as management members right after Kotoko match communicated to the coach that Augustine Sefa is not eligible to play on Sunday,'' said Edmund Ackah on Asempa FM.

"The coach should not include him in his plans, this is due to accumulated cards''.

Meanwhile, any win for Asante Kotoko will see them qualify for the group stage of the competition for the first since 2008.
