Asante Kotoko head coach Charles Kwablan Akunnor says he is content with his side's performance and result in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup match with Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday.

The Porcupine Warriors held the free-scoring Kenya giants to a goalless draw at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani.

The much anticipated match lived up to the billing with lots of chances missed in an entertaining game.

Speaking after the match, the former Hearts of Oak and AshantiGold gaffer had nothing but praises for his side disclosing that there is much room for improvementa ahead of the return leg.

“We are satisfied with the result because we didn’t lose,” he said.

"We could have won because we had chances to score. We came here to get a good result, meaning we can be satisfied with a draw or win.”

The former Ghana international added, “I don’t want to be too selfish. This was an away match. We have to go back home, do a bit of homework and find a method to win the second leg.”

“We are not going to relax. The target is to qualify for the next stage and we are going to work hard to achieve that.”

Kotoko will host the Sharks in the second leg tie at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on December 22.
