CAF Confederations Cup: Kotoko CEO confident of progression

Mr George Amoako, Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko is confident his side will 'finish' Kariobangyi Sharks in the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup in Kumasi on Saturday.

The Porcupine Warriors held the Sharks to a goalless draw in Nairobi despite the Reds being criticized for their defensive approach.

The experienced football administrator said they had a game plan heading towards the match and any form of a win for Asante Kotoko in the second leg will see them progress to the next stage of the competition.

However, Amoako believes coach C.K Akunnor and his lads will beat the Kenyan giants at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on December 22.

“We knew what we wanted going into the game and we have done that perfectly right,” George Amoako said after the game.

“We told ourselves we shouldn’t lose but if there is any chance for us to win it we take it. But we went into it not to take any goals."

"We needed to conserve energy to maintain a respectable scoreline and that is exactly what we did. If we had opened up we could have scored them many goals. Look how many times did they even threaten our goalkeeper.”

“Kumasi people should expect us. We are coming to finish them at home,” he concluded.
