CAF salutes the 2008 AFCON achievements of Manuel "Junior" Agogo

The Confederation of African Football paid tribute to Junior Agogo, the late Ghanaian forward, for his excellent

success in the 2008 AFCON competition, which saw the Black Stars end the tournament with the bronze medal.

In the latter stages of the 2008 AFCON, Junior Agogo, who played for the Black Stars between 2006 and 2009, scored a total of three goals helping Ghana to finish third.

The forward scored the only goal of the game against Namibia, then went on to score the winner in the quarter-final against Nigeria, which Ghana won 2-1.

In the 27 matches, he played for the country the late striker scored a total of 12 goals.

Manuel "Junior" Agogo died on 22 August 2019 in London after suffering a stroke at age 40.
