CAF U-23 AFCON: Ghana’s Black Meteors train for the last time ahead of South Africa meeting

Ghana’s Black Meteors trained for the last time this evening as they gear up to face South Africa tomorrow to battle for a 3rd place finish at the 2019 CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The two sides managed to sail through the group stage of the tournament but unfortunately lost their semi-final matches.

The West African side lost to Cote d’Ivoire on penalties with the South Africans suffering a 3-0 defeat to host nation Egypt.

They are now set to lock horns in a crucial 3rd place match that will potentially keep their hopes of qualifying to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games alive.

The Black Meteors of Ghana who have missed out on the Games for the last 14 years is hoping to see off their opponent tomorrow when they meet at the Cairo International Stadium.

The match will kick off at 14:30GMT with Ghana coach Ibrahim Tanko determined to guide his side to victory.
