Asante Kotoko has struggled to shine in Africa for some years now. The domestic campaign hasn't been great either, the Kumasi based club has been inconsistent.
Mini distractions, wrong moves by the management, fans disagreements have dragged the club away from the ultimate goal, that's win trophies domestically and also in Africa. This new board has hinted at bringing new strategies to help move the club forward.
The Ashanti regional circles' chairman speaking on Otec FM said
“I was reading one of the board members interviews which reveals that they will try to buy the best players from Ghana to encourage we the supporters to rally behind them because Kotoko is like Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain who always work with big and quality players”
One of the board members have come out to say that to realise their objectives of winning on the pitch, the club requires quality players.
He has promised that the club plans to travel beyond the boundaries of Ghana to recruit the best of talents if need be.
“Football is about quality players and we will look around the country and beyond and get the best players for Kotoko”
“Our immediate target will be winning the league and then proceed to do well in Africa," he said.
