Published on: 02 December 2019

Ex Barcelona star Cesc Fàbregas has applauded Ghana international Thomas Partey after the midfielder played Atletico Madrid’s League match against Barcelona on Sunday night.

Partey was named in the Atletico Madrid starting line-up and the Ghanaian lasted full minute with a great game at the Estadio Metropolitano when they lost 1-0 to the Spanish Champions.

The Ghanaian showed class in midfield and battled his opponents in the entire duration of the game. A performance which has earned him praises from the Monaco player.

The 26-year-old gracefully dominated play in the middle of the park and came close to scoring after firing a shot from the outside of the box.

With 13 appearances so far this season for Atletico Madrid, the 26-year-old has remained one of the most trusted players of Diego Simeone.

Partey has been in imperious form this season,  being named in a CAF 30-man shortlist for the 2019 Africa Footballer of the year award.

In a Twitter post, World Cup winner described Partey as a very good player after watching the midfielder star against Barcelona.
