Chairman Wontumi set sight on becoming the ‘Silvio Berlusconi’ of Ghana football

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi is keen on becoming the ‘Silvio Berlusconi’ of Ghana football.

Silvio Berlusconi, an Italian Politician and former owner of Serie A giants AC Milan is known worldwide for his contribution to the sport and how powerful he made the Milan-based club.

According to Chairman Wontumi, he has developed an interest in football again and will soon venture into the sport in Ghana that will make his the Silvio Berlusconi of the West African country.

“It is coming as a movement. All resources necessary in the form of money, personnel, and infrastructure will be heavily channeled into it. I will be next Silvio Berlusconi in Ghana football”, the outspoken NPP Chairman told King Eben on Wontumi Radio last Monday.

It is understood that Chairman Wontumi is eyeing a major investment into a club that is likely to be one of the Premier League clubs.
