Champions League failure can help Man Utd beat Barcelona to Marquinhos

Manchester United are launching a bid for PSG defender Marquinhos.

Sport says United will offer PSG £60million for Marquinhos – to keep him out of the grasp of Barcelona.

The Nou Camp side are said to have bid just north of £42m for the Brazilian defender – who cried when he found out he is to be a dad.

But PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is unwilling to let one of his side's star players be sold to a direct Champions League rival.

It's claimed Marquinhos “will become of the defensive pillars of Mourinho's project at Old Trafford".

The player's agent is set for talks with Old Trafford chiefs in the coming days.
