It may only be a few months after Jamie Vardy's breakthrough season for Leicester City - in which his 24 league goals helped his club to the title - but according toThe Sun, scouts have identified Brentford forward Scott Hogan as another possible star to emerge from non-league football.
The 24-year-old impressed towards the end of last season after recovering from injury to score seven goals in as many appearances.
He was released by Rochdale at the end of the 2009/10 season, and dropped into non-league football with Woodley Sports in Stockport where he scored 21 goals.
After other spells with clubs likeStocksbridge Park Steels - for whom Jamie Vardy also played - Hogan earned a second chance at Rochdale, and ultimately a£750,000 transfer to Griffin Park.
The striker's story certainly has similarities to that of Vardy. The 29-year-old was playing for Fleetwood Town as recently as 2012, and he scored 31 goals in a season before getting a move to Leicester.
Since then his career has had an incredible trajectory, with his work-rate, pace and willingness to run beyond any defence meaning that he has become one of the most feared forwards in the Premier League.
His goals were key to the Foxes' Premier League title win, and whilst other key players such as N'Golo Kante have since left the club, Vardy has committed his long-term future to the side by signing a new contract and rejecting overtures from Arsenal, who were willing to meet his buyout clause.
Such an incredible story has not gone unnoticed by film companies and Vardy has agreed to have a biopic made about him. This comes after hehas broken into the England squad and scored against Wales at Euro 2016.
