Chelsea Hold Talks With Super-Agent Jorge Mendes Over Potential James Rodriguez Transfer

Chelsea have held talks with agent Jorge Mendes over the possibility of signing James Rodriguez from Real Madrid.

Spanish daily El Confidencialhave said that Rodriguez is "sufferinghis worst days at Real Madrid". The Colombian hasstarted only 17 La Liga games in 2015/2016 and compared to the 29 startsin his first season in the Spanish capital you can see he's gone down the pecking order at Madrid.

The outlet also says Rodriguez is a "player who dazzles Antonio Conte" and the Blues bosswould love to build a partnership betweenRodriguez and EdenHazard. This would certainly boost their title charge and bring back their stature in the football world after thedisappointmentof last season.

The main problem in this deal would be the fee. Rodriguezsigned for Madrid for a fee around€71m and they are asking for a similar price if Chelsea wants his services.

The London based side have offered Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas as part of a deal, but it wasbeen rejected. But the former Premier League champions won't be giving up on this deal too soon.

His agent Jorge Mendes had a conversation with the Galactico and found that he has hit a heavy brick wall and he is in a lowmood as he finds himselfbehind Isco, Lucas Vázquez and Marco Asensio in the pecking order.

World Cup winner and team mate Cristiano Ronaldo has urged the midfielder to stay and fight for his place, meanwhile his manager, the great Zinadine Zidane said he has "everything to succeed" and is an"exceptional talent" but he has to "prove and want it" to regain his first team place.

The comments made by Zidane suggests he isn't training hard enough and isn't showing the desire Zidane wants froma player in his team.

Footballing legend Carlos Valderrama was recorded onPeriscope sayingthat "James is a player he (Zidane) does not like" and "even if he scores three, four, or five goals, Zindane won't put him on (to play)".So Valderrama himself wasleft confused and a move away would be no shock for anybody and a move to Chelsea could just happen.

Super agent Jorge Mendes, whohas held talks with Chelsea over a possible move, has put another twist in the tail bysaying Rodriguez would be staying at the Bernabéu on Spanish TV.
