Chelsea Star Pedro Loving Life at Stamford Bridge After This Summer's Failed Move to Barca

Published on: 24 October 2016

Pedro has revealed that he gave serious consideration to a return to Barcelona over the summer after a disappointing first season in English football.

Chelsea attacker Pedro has acknowledged he discussed a return to Catalonia with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu ahead of the 2016/17 season but has said that preliminary discussions didn't materialise into a moveby either party.

The Catalans were desperate to add tothe depth of their attack and had earmarked Pedro as a possible acquisition following his previous success at the club, having acted as an excellent foil for David Villa and Lionel Messi in the early 2010's.

A move never materialised, though, as Barcelona moved for Paco Alcacer from Valencia instead.

"I talked with Bartomeu but it was given more importance than the conversation merited.

"It is difficult to return somewhere, but you always have memories of a spell with a club.

Meanwhile, Pedro has discussed his relationship with Jose Mourinho after the pair worked together for a short time upon Pedro's arrival on English shores before Mourinho left under a cloud.

Pedro scored in both of Jose Mourinho's heaviest defeats as a manager:
