Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi has avoided a driving ban after telling the jury that he made an effort to not run late for team training
Hudson-Odoi nearly doubled his speeding limit which landed him in trouble with the jury. He drove at 90mph in a 50mph zone on 6 August on the A3 in south-west London.
He admitted to the offense and was told to pay £834. He then had six points added to his driver's licence at Lavender Hill Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Hudson-Odoi explained that he was "under considerable pressure from work" and experiencing "personal problems in his life".
"He was expected to arrive at training at a certain time and fearing he would not, he chose to increase his speed," his lawyer stated.
"What he did was an extremely stupid decision."
Odoi recently spent his vacation in Ghana and has been in talks with the GFA regarding a switch to the Black Stars.
