Chris Hughton lauded Brighton & Hove Albion's comfortable 4-0 friendly win over Crawley Town on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Beram Kayal, Tomer Hemed, Glenn Murray and Alvis Manu sealed their opening pre-season game win and Albion's boss Hughton was highly impressed with his sides intensity throughout the game.

Hughton told the club'sofficial website:It was very good. We made a lot of changes, almost complete changes at half time and sometimes in these games when you've done well in that first half, it's difficult to replicate that in the second half with a different team.

They made a lot of changes as well, but I was really happy with the performance. Crawley are a little bit ahead of us with regard to competitive games that they've played, so it was really important that we put in a good stint today, and we did."

Hughton was delighted withGlenn Murray's firstgoal since his return to the club and hopes his strike-force this season will provide the goals to shoot up the league.

I remember last summer with Tomer's first goal in pre-season, that it meant something to him. You want to score goals, wherever they are, they are of great value to you.

I am pleased for Glenn and Tomer, and was also pleased for Manu as well.

He missed a couple of chances before then and it was a fairly unconventional goal that he did score, but I am really pleased for him and I thought he worked hard.
