Hughton, 64, was appointed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as Black Stars' head coach on Sunday.

The former Brighton and Newcastle United boss will be assisted by George Boateng and Didi Dramani.

Prior to his appointment, Hughton had worked as the technical advisor to the Black Stars.

“He’s been with the team during even the qualifiers…so he knows the core of the team so I think it will be very easier for him to continue from where Otto left," he told Citi Sports.

"He knows the boys, he knows the core of the team so I think he will continue from there and he will do well,” Dauda said.

Chris Hughton and his new technical team will take up Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers in a doubleheader next month.

Dauda played for the Black Stars at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the 2013 AFCON while featuring for clubs like Legon Cities FC and Orlando Pirates.
