Black Stars new boy Edwin Gyasi has revealed his favourite Ghana player from the past and the present has been Christian Atsu.

The Aeslund winger was invited to the national team by Coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against Congo.

The 26 year old could make his debut for the West African Nation, having already featured for the Dutch National team at Junior levels.

The former Roda JC player told Footy Ghana,” Yes, at the Under-17 and Under-20s,” when quizzed about playing for Netherlands.

He however revealed he has always wanted to play for the Black Stars of Ghana and never had second thoughts when he had the call to join the team.

“I always wanted to play for Ghana,” he told footyghana.com.

Meanwhile, he could not hide his admiration for Newcastle Star Christian Atsu, insisting the 25 year old former Chelsea player has been his favourite ever Ghanaian player.

He was asked who his favourite player in the past and currently has been, and he could not wink but gave a snappy answer,” Christian Atsu.”

Edwin Gyasi plays together with junior brother Raymond Gyasi in Norway but the later is with Staeback.

The winger will hope to make his first appearance for the Black Stars when they come up against Congo on Friday.
